Feb 13, 2018 (newstodate): As reported by newstodate yesterday, Spirit Air Cargo Handling scored a first by obtaining its CEIV Pharma certificate at Copenhagen Airport by the end of January 2018.
Another major cargo handling company at Copenhagen Airport is WFS that is also heavily into the pharma segment.
On December 13, 2017, WFS Denmark thus opened its new Pharma Handling Facility within its cargo terminal at Copenhagen Airport, at the same time unveiling its ambitions to become CEIV certified as well.
-The investment is in support of WFS' airline customers' growing pharma volumes and WFS' own IATA CEIV Pharma certification programme in Denmark, which it expects to complete in early 2018, the WFS release read.
This might be overly optimistic, though..
-As of today, WFS has not even applied for CEIV Pharma certification at Copenhagen Airport, says Ronald Schaefer, Assistant Director, Cargo, Ground Operations and CEIV Consulting, and Head of IATA's CEIV Pharma Program, commenting on the news carried by newstodate in December 2017
