Feb 06, 2018 (newstodate): Sukhoi expects to obtain certification before the end of 2018 for its Superjet 100 aircraft to operate into London City Airport
The aircraft manufacturer is working on the start and landing characteristics of the aircraft allowing for operations on shorter runways thanks to refitting the aircraft with new bended wingtips.
Sukhoi has also unveiled plans for developing a new 75-seats version of the Superjet 100 with a shorter fuselage and new avionics and new engines with less utilization of western systems and components.
This latter version of the Superjet would thus also be better positioned for export to countries without restraints from the US embargoes.
