Feb 22, 2018 (newstodate): Plans are underway for establishing a simulator training facility in the Faroe Islands.
So far, talks are at an early stage but Faroese entrepreneurs behind the initiative, including Patur Egholm Jacobsen, have posted information on facebook including previews of an Airbus A320 cockpit.
-A Board to manage the project was formed only earlier this February, so the concrete work is only starting now - and will require a lengthy period of time before details are available, says Mr Egholm Jacobsen.
The venture under formation is most probably eyeing the needs of airlines including also the Faroese carrier Atlantic Airways, now with three Airbus A320 Family aircraft in the fleet, and slated to take delivery of an Airbus A320neo in March 2019.
