Feb 02, 2018 (newstodate): Norwegian expects to launch its first flights to Argentina already by mid-February 2018.
This will be the start of flights with Boeing 787-9 aircraft between London and Buenos Aires on February 14, 2018, while operations in Argentina will commence after the new Argentinian subsidiary receives its own Boeing 787-8 by June.
Plans are to build the fleet serving regional and domestic routes to between six and 10 Boeing 787-8 aircraft by the end of 2018, in addition to the Boeing 787-9 aircraft for long-haul flights.
The Argentinian government has granted Norwegian the rights to operate a network comprising 72 domestic and regional routes and 80 international routes that will all be operated with Argentinian staff in cockpits and cabins, driving a successive recruitment of some 3-4.000 pilots and crew members over the next decade.
