Feb 21, 2018 (newstodate): Right in time for the coming summer season, the Lithuanian ACMI and charter carrier GetJet Airlines has now been awarded its IOSA certification.
The process was earlier expected around the turn of the year, but at last the certificate was landed on February 7, 2018.
-It certainly marks another milestone for our carrier, completing a long process requiring much effort and dedication, says Darius Viltrakis, GetJet Airlines CEO since February 1, 2018.
-With this certification we gain access to a new market of ACMI contracts with larger carriers that has the IOSA status as a precondition for business partnerships.
-Another great news in 2018 is the delivery of two Airbus A320 aircraft, the first of which is already on our AOC with the second aircraft still in the paperwork.
-Both aircraft are now undergoing pre-delivery maintenance and will be in our fleet by March 2018 - in time for the coming summer peak season. Actually, we are in the final stage of landing ACMI contracts for these new additions to the fleet.
-In the fleet are also four Boeing 737-400 and two Boeing 737-300 aircraft that are well covered in the coming season, with some slots still available for customers.
-There is no doubt that the demand in the market for ACMI services is rising, especially for the Airbus aircraft, and we expect to have another booming year of operations in 2018, says Mr Viltrakis.
Mr Viltrakis also does not exclude the addition of adding more aircraft already this year.
