Feb 13, 2018 (newstodate): The increase of flights in 2017 including new long-haul routes at Sweden's airports is reflecting also on the proportion of flown cargo, compared to trucked cargo.
In 2017, the airports of Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmo thus saw an increase in flown cargo by 9.1 percent, y-o-y, to 179,208 tonnes, while cargo on road feeder services was up "only" 4.5 percent, to 95,916 tonnes.
A total of 275,125 tonnes of cargo was handled at the airportsx, comprising 142,188 tonnes of exports, increasing 5.2 percent, y-o-y, and 132,937 tonnes of imports, up 10 percent, showing a favorable balance between imports and exports.
