Feb 16, 2018 (newstodate): The first direct air services between the countries in the former Yugoslavia and Iran will be set up from this spring.
Starting from March 28, 2018, Montenegro Airline will be operating one weekly rotation an the new route between Podgorica, in Montenegro, and Tehran under a contract signed in November 2017 with the Iranian travel agency Negin Parvaz Pars.
The new charter flights come after the easing of the international sanctions on Iran in 2016.
Montenegro Airlines operates year-round flights to eight destinations including Belgrade, Vienna, Frankfurt, Zurich, Ljubljana, Rome, Paris and Moscow.
During the summer seven seasonal lines are operated to London, Copenhagen, St Petersburg, Dusseldorf, Lyon, Leipzig and Munich.
Besides these, the carrier also operate scheduled charter flights to 13 destinations including Tel Aviv, Helsinki, Oslo, Bari, Naples, Briv, Bratislava, Linz, Salzburg, Kosice, Ostrava, Tehran and Amman.
