Feb 02, 2018 (newstodate): As one of the first airlines in the world, the Czech carrier Travel Service has now taken delivery of its first of a batch of Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft.
Before the end of this year, the carrier will have a total of six Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft in the fleet, growing to 15 by the end of 2019. And by the end of 2023, Travel Service will have 39 aircraft of this type, gradually phasing out the existing Boeing 737NG fleet.
Eight of the new aircraft will be acquired outright from Boeing by Travel Service, while other aircraft will be placed on leasing contracts with GECAS, AerCap, ALC and BOC Aviation.
In 2017, Travel Service became the majority owner of the Czech carrier CSA with 98 percent of the stake in the national airline after taking over the shares earlier held by Korean Air and the Czech state
