Feb 05, 2018 (newstodate): In 2017, Armenia's Zvartnots Airport saw cargo volumes up by 22.2 percent, y-o-y, according to official figures.
A total of 22,324 tonnes of cargo and mail was handled in 2017. against 18,269 tonnes in the previous year.
Armenian cargo statistics are, however, rather difficult to handle: in October 2017 the airport announced a cargo growth during January-September at no less than 49.7 percent, y-o-y, to a total of 17,183 tonnes.
Taken as face value, the airport thus handled only 5,141 tonnes during October-December 2017.
Growth thus dropped from 49.7 to "only" 22.2 percent over the last quarter of the year.
