Feb 23, 2018 (newstodate): While passenger figures were rising in 2017 at Bulgaria's Sofia Airport, cargo lagged behind in growth.
The airport thus handled a total of 6,489,738 passengers in 2017, a steep increase by 30.3 percent, y-o-y.
Cargo did not follow suit, however, dipping slightly by 0.3 percent to a mere 20,818 tonnes.
The airport fared better in January 2018, though, with handling of 1,687 tonnes which was 9.6 percent up on last year.
