Feb 23, 2018 (newstodate): The Faroese carrier Atlantic Airways is online between the Faroe Islands and Iceland, but rich potentials are yet-untapped.
-We operate twice-weekly flights with Airbus A319 between Vagar Airport and Iceland, in summer into Reykjavik Airport, in the city center, as the only international airline to do so, says Johanna Bergi, Atlantic Airways CEO.
-We are, however not allowed to operate into Reykjavik Airport during the winter schedule, routing the flight into Keflavik instead.
-We have an interline agreement with Air Iceland, the subsidiary of Icelandair, but not with Icelandair itself. This means that we are not feeding traffic between the Faroe Islands and IOcelandair's North American network that generates much tourist traffic.
-An interline agreement with Icelandair would of course be very useful and is certainly something we are having on mind. But so far, our resources have not sufficed to tackling this issue, says Ms a Berghi.
