Feb 27, 2018 (newstodate): The Armenian carrier Taron-Avia has suspended scheduled passenger operations, pending a turn for the better in its market.
Founded in 2007, the carrier operates a fleet of two Boeing 737-500 aircraft on regular and charter flights from Shirak International Airport and Zvartnots International Airport.
The airline managed by Garnik Papikyan as CEO suspended flights from Gyumri from January 1, 2018, and services from Yerevan were suspended on January 14.
Taron-Avia however still expects to resume passenger services by the spring or summer of 2018, when demand is expected to grow again.
In the meantime, the carrier is continuing its charter and cargo operations.
