Feb 19, 2018 (newstodate): The Danish aircraft maintenance company Aeroservice opened a new business chapter in 2017 by performing its first part-out operation at Copenhagen Airport.
And the successful completion of this job seems to have paved the road for a follow-up already from the start of this year.
-We are currently finalizing negotiations with the owner of the first Avro RJ100 for starting a similar operation on a second Avro aircraft, says Andrew Djurhuus, Aeroservice CEO and Accountable Manager.
-Our offer is a total package solution where we undertake to take out all systems, components and elements on behalf of the owner, after which we dismantle the entire aircraft by removing all remaining parts for potential sale or scrapping on our own account, ending up with the cannibalization of the remaining hull.
-Airlines are increasingly phasing out their Avro aircraft, so the residual value of components and systems is limited. Still, we have proved that airlines do not need to send their aircraft to far-away places for cannibalization - we are fully capable of handling the process under verified and controlled conditions here in Denmark, says Mr Djurhuus.
