Dec 14, 2018 (newstodate): The first airport in Russia built after the collapse of the Soviet Union, Gelendzhik Airport in Krasnodar Krai, Russia, has again revised its plans for upgrading.
One earlier project envisaged the construction of a new 5,200 sq m terminal to raise the airport's passenger handling capacity from 140 to 230 passengers per hour.
An earlier plan called for a new 10,000 sq m passenger terminal designed to handle 600 passengers per hour, but the latest revision has now been announced.
Now, work on a coming new passenger terminal will start in 2019, occupying an area of 9,000 sq m and designed for a capacity of handling 890 people per hour and 635,000 passengers annually, twice the capacity of the existing terminal building that handles 320 passengers per hour.
