Dec 20, 2018 (newstodate): Denmark's Billund Airport will benefit from a massive growth in traffic by the LCC Norwegian.
Starting from April 2019, the carrier will launch flights on no less than eight new routes from Billund Airport, increasing its presence by more than 100 percent.
The new destinations to be operated from Billund as Norwegian's own routes in free sale are Malaga, Palma, Faro, and the Azores, while flights on new routes to Zakynthos, Kos, Chania and Rhodes will be operated a full-charters for tour operator Bravo Tours.
These new routes come on top of Norwegian's existing routes from Billund Airport to Oslo, Alicante and Barcelona.
In addition, Norwegian is also operating from Billund Airport to Sharm el Sheikh and Hurghada for tour operator Atlantis Rejser.
Of these routes, Norwegian's flights to Oslo and Malaga are performed year-round, while the other routes are operated seasonally.
In total, Norwegian will grow its volume of weekly flights from Billund Airport from 11 to 24 weekly operations in summer 2019.
Norwegian has been online at Billund Airport since its entry in 2010 on the domestic route from Copenhagen Airport.
