Dec 05, 2018 (newstodate): The Icelandair Group has now confirmed a new CEO to manage the company: Boga Nils Bogason.
Mr Bogason has been serving as the airline's interim CEO since September 2018 as the Group President and CEO, Bjorgolfur Johannsson, resigned abruptly after announcing a bleak forecast for 2018.
Mr Bogason will face a demanding challenge from returning Icelandair to safe haven after the current deep financial problems through a series of remedies including a new bonds emmision and the obligation to reduce debts with rough terms to bring back the group on firm footing.
Bogi Nils Bogason has served as Icelandair Group CFO since October 2008 as well as during the period 2004-2006.
