Dec 11, 2018 (newstodate): Cargo volumes have been growing consistently through 2018 at Lithuania's Vilnius Airport.
In November 2018, volumes were up by 18.49 percent, y-o-y, to a total of 1,173 tonnes including 928 tonnes of cargo and 245 tonnes of mail.
So far, all months in 2018 have showed growth in volumes, and during January-November 2018 totals run into 11,537 tonnes which is already more than the full-year loads handled in 2017 - 9,739 tonnes, up 7.2 percent, y-o-y.
The result in 2017 was however marked by the suspension of flights at Vilnius Airport due to runway reconstruction during July and August 2017.
The significant boost to the airport's cargo in 2018 is not least supported by Turkish Cargo operating two weekly Airbus A330-200F flights through Vilnius Airport since April 19, 2018, coming in from Prague and returning to Istanbul after the call at Vilnius.
