Dec 03, 2018 (newstodate): The Latvian carrier airBaltic has taken delivery of its 14th Airbus A220-300 aircraft, ending this year's planned delivery scheme.
2019 will end with delivery of a further eight aircraft, with four of them already on the final assembly line in Canada.
The first order for the aircraft comprised 20 aircraft, and airBaltic later signed a fresh order on May 28, 2018, for another 30 aircraft with commitment for a further 30 aircraft, taking the fleet to a grand total of 80 aircraft.
The all-Airbus A220-300 fleet provides the backbone of airBaltic's business plan Destination 2025 that builds on the progress of the current airlines business plan Horizon 2021, which laid the groundwork for future expansion.
airBaltic was the launch carrier of the CS300, later renamed Airbus A220-300, with its first CS300 on scheduled flights from December 14, 2016.
