Dec 07, 2018 (newstodate): The Icelandic low-cost carrier WOW Air is now online on its - and any Icelandic carrier's -so far longest route connecting Iceland and Delhi, in India.
The first flight took off on December 6, 2018, and WOW Air is now offering three weekly rotations on the route using Airbus A330 aircraft.
The carrier announced the new route already on May 15, but preparations including finalizing talks with the Indian authorities proved more time-consuming that expected.
More than just a point-to-point route, WOW Air expects to attract US-India traffic through its hub at Keflavik Airport, as well as generating traffic also between Europe and India.
