Dec 13, 2018 (newstodate): The launch yesterday of Qatar Airways' fifth route to the Nordic markets bodes well for Gothenburg Airport that has thus re-gained a wide-body, long-haul service.
Qatar Airways is now offering five weekly rotations with Boeing 787-8 aircraft, and the first flight from Gothenburg to Doha was performed with a record-high load factor at 95 percent as well as 18 tonnes of cargo in the belly hold.
Besides aiming at generating a sound passenger business in Sweden's western market, the new flight is also aiming at attracting Norwegian exporters' shipments of fresh salmon to the global marketplace via Doha Airport as a supplement to Qatar Airways' daily flights from Oslo Airport as well its four three freighter calls from Oslo.
