Dec 20, 2018 (newstodate): The new majority-owner since this autumn of Finnair's domestic flights provider Norra, the Danish airline DAT is hopefully happy with its acquisition.
In the meantime, a labor dispute has emerged as Norra's pilot organization has embarked on an overtime ban and taken other action against their employer to force about improved labor conditions.
As a result, Norra has wet-leased an ATR72-500 aircraft from DAT to alleviate the disruptions to the daily operations, expected to grow in scope as the Christmas peak approaches.
DAT considers the acquisition as a "strategic issue" as Norra will continue under its own management and brand.
Norra's fleet comprising 12 ATR 72-500 and 12 Embraer E190LR is not comprised by the transaction with DAT and will remain owned by Finnair.
