Dec 14, 2018 (newstodate): The Faroe Islands' carrier Atlantic Airways is adding a new destination on its route map from summer 2019: Paris.
With the first flight on July 1, 2019, the carrier will be offering three weekly rotations on the route between Vagar Airport and Paris CDG, till the end of September, and then two weekly rotations until Christmas 2019.
The flights will benefit from a code-share agreement with Air France allowing for onward flight connections via Paris on Air France's world-wide route network.
In March 2019, Atlantic Airways will take delivery of its first Airbus A320neo aircraft, while also signing a second lease agreement for another A320neo in October 2018.
Based at Vagar Airport, Atlantic Airways currently operates a fleet comprising two Airbus A319 and one Airbus A320 aircraft, as well as two AgustaWestland AW139 helicopters.
One of the two A319 aircraft is due for redelivery to is owner in spring 2019 as the first Airbus A320neo is due for arrival.
