Dec 03, 2018 (newstodate): The EU Commission has now updated the EU Air Safety List comprising airlines failing to meet international safety standards, and are therefore subject to an operating ban or operational restrictions within the European Union.
On the list are now a total of 109 airlines as well as six airlines subject to operational restrictions and only allowed to fly to the EU with specific aircraft types.
The 109 airlines are based in Afghanistan, Angola, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Gabon, the Kyrgyz Republic, Liberia, Libya, Nepal, Sao Tome and Principe, Sierra Leone and Sudan, while the six airlines singled out are Avior Airlines, Iran Aseman Airlines, Iraqi Airways, Blue Wing Airlines, Med-View Airlines, and Air Zimbabwe.
Besides, an additional six airlines are subject to operational restrictions and can only fly to the EU with specific aircraft types: Afrijet and Nouvelle Air Affaires SN2AG, Air Koryo, Air Service Comores, Iran Air, and TAAG Angola Airlines.
