Nov 29, 2018 (newstodate: The Hungarian LCC Wizz Air is planning for a revival of its subsidiary, Wizz Air Ukraine.
Wizz Air Ukraine was operating till 2015 but put on ice due to the ongoing military conflict in Ukraine's eastern parts.
With the situation normalized, the company intends to start up again and has applied for permits to be issued by the Ukrainian authorities.
Once these permits are issued, Wizz Air Ukraine will receive fresh investments from the mother company and would end up with a fleet comprising up to 20 Airbus A320 and AirbusA321 aircraft to be based at Kiev and other Ukrainian airports.
Wizz Air Ukraine was the country's first low-cost carrier, starting operations from July 18, 2008 with Airbus A320 aircraft and operating four Airbus A320 aircraft.
Wizz Air Ukraine then planned to increase its traffic four-fold over the following three years, adding a further six Airbus A320 aircraft during the period.
