Nov 14, 2018 (newstodate): The new Ukrainian low-cost carrier SkyUp is rapidly expanding its aircraft fleet since its start in 2018.
Launched with two Boeing 737-800 aircraft, the carrier has now taken delivery of one Boeing 737-700 earlier operated by the Korean low-cost Eastar Jet, and before the end of this year two more aircraft will be added, including one Boeing 737-800 and one Boeing 737-800.
SkyUp was granted its AOC only on May 16, 2018, later also landing its TCO status, and is now planning for introducing low-cost flights from Kiev to Tbilisi, Barcelona, Sofia and Poprad already in December 2018.
The airline is fully owned by Ukrainian capital, with 50 percent of the stake held by the two owners behind the country's leading tour operator JoinUp, Tatiana and Yuri Alba.
