Nov 27, 2018 (newstodate): Turkish Airlines is growing by leaps and bounds with a sustained increase in network and aircraft fleet.
The carrier will thus need a huge intake of cockpit and cabin crews to cover both expansion and planned retirements.
Actually, Turkish Airlines will be in the market for hiring 1,000 new pilots and 1,600 cabin crew members in 2019.
On the roster are now reportedly 4,518 pilots and 9,924 cabin crew members, so with newcomers added and retirements deduced in 2019 the pilot corps will grow by 500 net, while cabin crew members will also increase in numbers by some 500 net.
This leaves the big issue: whence the new pilots in a market where almost all airlines are fighting to attract new candidates to cope with expected growth in traffic?
