Nov 22, 2018 (newstodate): Stockholm Arlanda Airport dominates the cargo statistics of Swedavia's airports.
In 2017, cargo volumes through the airport constituted 67 percent of the total Swedavia cargo through-put with 185,348 tonnes out of 275,124 tonnes, according to data provided at the event launching Air Cargo Sweden.
Cargo through Stockholm Airport is fairly balanced, with 58 percent export and 42 percent import cargo, and with general cargo accounting for 84 and express cargo for 16 percent of the total.
The bulk of the cargo through Stockholm Airport, or 75 percent, is flown while 25 percent is trucked cargo.
Compared to the airports at Gothenburg and Malmo, Stockholm Airport has also seen the largest growth in volumes during January-September 2018, increasing 5.3 percent, y-o-y, to a total of 140,645 tonnes comprising 78,434 tonnes of exports, up 6.6 percent, and 62,210 tonnes of imports, also up 3.7 percent, y-o-y.
