Nov 21, 2018 (newstodate): Cargo is important for the development of Stockholm Airport, a strong supporter of Air Cargo Sweden, established on November 15, 2018.
-Cargo is increasingly important for establishing and sustaining passenger routes at Stockholm Arlanda Airport. Earlier, this was not our main focus, but this situation has changing, said Peder Grunditz, Stockholm Arlanda Airport Director, at the event launching ACS.
-Especially, belly cargo is more and more important and one of the key drivers on new routes out of Stockholm Airport.
-On some of our intercontinental routes out of Stockholm Airport operators are seeing some 20 percent of revenues deriving from air cargo, and in some instances this contribution is even up to 50 percent on long-haul routes.
-As an airport, we derive our cargo-related revenues from traffic fees, but to this should be added income from real estate assets in and around the cargo area.
-In the development plans for Stockholm Airport into 2025-26 is also an expansion of the cargo terminal area, but in the shorter term there are still room for growth at the current premises.
-Stockholm Airport is strongly supporting Air Cargo Sweden as a venue for even closer cooperation with all stakeholders and the society, said Mr Grunditz.
