Nov 29, 2018 (newstodate): The Lithuanian carrier Small Planet Airlines UAB has now come to the end of the rope, effectively grounding the airline.
November 28, 2018, was the deadline for the airline to prove the sustainability of its restructuring plan including a plan for financial revitalization - and the authorities turned down thumbs.
The airline has thus had its operating license revoked and all flight operations have been cancelled as the aircraft have been returned to lessors.
This seems to mark the end of life for Small Planet Airlines Group as efforts to find investors to rescue the Group's subsidiaries in Germany and Poland have all failed.
What remains at this point in time are activities in East Asia, primarily Cambodia.
