Nov 15, 2018 (newstodate): Ryanair Sun, set up in Poland will reportedly add new roles in 2019.
The stand-alone carrier was registered as a company on July 13, 2017, as a Polish operator, headquartered at Warsaw, with bases at Katowice, Poznan, Warsaw and Wroclaw.
The business model is offering capacity to tour operators in the booming Polish market including TUI and Poznan's Grecos Holidays in competition to other operators including Enter Air and Small Planet Airlines Poland and other carriers.
This market has changed with the recent bankruptcy of Small Planet Airlines Poland, and a new strategy seems to be emerging.
Industry sources thus claim that Ryanair Sun will take over all Ryanair flights from Poland in 2019, besides continuing to serve the charter market.
Ryanair Sun has earlier aired its ambitions to grow the fleet on the charter carrier's own AOC to 15 aircraft in 2019 and to 25 in 2020.
