Nov 07, 2018 (newstodate): The Russian regional carrier Azimuth Airlines is now putting flights to non-CIS markets on its agenda for 2019.
The airline serving Russia's southern region thus plans to launch services to markets including Germany, Turkey and the Emirates from the latter part of next year, 2019.
The coming flights will open up new venues from Russia's new green-field airport, Rostov-on-Don Platov Airport, commissioned by December 1, 2017, with a 3,600 m runway to facilitate the addition of long-haul destinations to the region's route network.
Performing its first commercial operation in September 2017, Azimuth Airlines obtained its AOC from Rosaviatsia on August 20, 2017, starting out with four Superjet 100 aircraft in the fleet and with plans to grow to a total of 12 Superjet 100 aircraft, with orders to be placed in 2019.
In the fleet are now eight Superjet 100 aircraft and so far two more are slated for delivery in 2019.
