Nov 09, 2018 (newstodate): Rather surprisingly, Ethiopian Airlines announced the opening of flights from Eritrea to destinations in Europe, including Oslo and Stockholm.
Plans for launch of services using Boeing 787-9 aircraft from December 1, 2018, were soon cooled down, however, as bookings closed even before the start of flights.
Now, Ethiopian's representative in Oslo, Norway, has brought new information to the market via his LinkedIn account.
-It is to recall that Ethiopian Airlines recently announced the launch of direct flight services from Asmara to five cities in Europe, namely London, Rome, Milan, Stockholm and Oslo as of December 1, 2018, subject to approval by authorities.
-However, the launch date of the new flight services to these destinations is postponed until further notice due to regulatory permit issues.
-We are working towards securing the necessary permit and shall advice you the inaugural date of the routes in due course, writes Mussie Fitehamlak, Ethiopian Airlines Manager Norway.
