Nov 22, 2018 (newstodate): The Polish airline SkyTaxi has added wide-body cargo capacity to its fleet. The carrier has taken lease of its first Boeing 767-200 converted freighter from the US company Cargo Aircraft Management, a subsidiary of ATSG. In addition to the seven-year contract, SkyTaxi has also gained rights to add a second Boeing 767-200 freighter that will join the fleet in 2019. The Boeing 767-200 aircraft now in the fleet of SkyTaxi was first operated by All Nippon Airlines from 1984 in passenger configuration, and converted to freighter in 2000 when it was taken over by Airborne Express.
In contrast to the airline's other activities, the new Boeing freighter will be based at Poland's Rzeszow Airport due to better access to technical support and closer to air cargo facilities.
Based at Wroclaw Airport and set up in 2000, SkyTaxi has so far been operating passenger and cargo charter flights with a fleet comprising two SAAB 340 aircraft, one of which is in quick change mode.
