Nov 08, 23018 (newstodate): Norwegian is the second-largest operator of flights at Helsinki Airport- but is now axing two and suspending one of its routes from 2019.
Poised to go is the route from Helsinki to Dubai from 10 January, 2019, while the route from Helsinki to Madrid will have its last flight on January 11, 2019.
Norwegian is also suspending services on the route from Helsinki to Amsterdam from January 3 while resuming operations again from February 28, 2019.
On the positive side, Norwegian commenced flights from October 29, 2018, on a new route from Helsinki to Gdansk, in Poland, with two weekly rotations, adding a weekly flight to Tel Aviv, in Israel, from November 3, 2018.
Earlier, Norwegian also announced the launch from Helsinki of two new routes to Krakow in Poland, and Agadir, in Morocco, as well as an increase in frequencies on several of its existing routes from Finland.
Norwegian made its entry at Helsinki Airport in April 2010, with flights to Helsinki from Stockholm and Oslo, bolstering its presence in the Finnish market by establishing Helsinki Airport as an operational base from spring 2011.
