Nov 26, 2018 (newstodate): The Polish carrier LOT has won a tender for flights connecting Lithuania's Vilnius Airport with London City Airport. According to the tender requirements, LOT will operate flights on the route with two daily rotations starting from May 2019, supposedly with Embraer E190 aircraft capable of operating into the city-near airport in London. To be signed before the end of this year, the contract will be running for five years, subsidized by the Lithuanian state. Other airlines had been sniffing at the proposal, including including British Airways, easyJet and airBaltic but all eventually rejected the opportunity.
