Nov 28, 2018 (newstodate): The Icelandic LCC WOW Air has embarked on a restructuring process to rein in financial deficiencies to secure its long-term financing. As a result, the carrier has returned Airbus A320 and two A330 aircraft to lessors while maintaining its plans for opening of new routes, including flights to Delhi, in India. Earlier this month, the Icelandair Group announced its plans for acquiring all shares in WOW Air, but the process has encountered snags because Icelandair does not seem to be able to fully meet the procedural conditions with all papers in place before the shareholders' meeting to confirm, or reject, the acquisition plans.
