Nov 02, 2018 (newstodate): Breaking a generally positive trend through 2018, Denmark's Billund Airport reports a drop by 4.3 percent, y-o-y, in volumes for October 2018. A total of 6,564 tones was handled at the airport including 2,257 tonnes of imports, down 10.9 percent, and 4,307 tonnes of exports, down more moderately by 0.4 percent, y-o-y. During the first 10 months of this year, the airport has thus seen its total volumes up by 2.4 percent to 61,289 tonnes including 21,257 tonnes of imports, down 0.7 percent, and 40,032 tonnes of exports that grew by 4.1 percent, y-o-y. -Despite the decline in October's volumes we are still pretty sure to set a new annual record this year, says Jan Ditlevsen, Billund Airport VP Cargo. -The comparison to 2017 is however marked by the fact that last year was indeed growing on the fast lane which is obviously difficult to match in 2018, given the global political and economic uncertainties.
