Nov 19, 2018 (newstodate): Denmark's Billund Airport serving the country's western region is growing its international traffic with four new routes in the pipeline.
The first of these was inaugurated on November 18, 2018, as Wizz Air performed its first flight from Billund to Vienna, now offering two weekly rotations using Airbus A320 aircraft.
Wizz Air is also to add flights on a new route from Billund to Kiev from March 2019, growing its route network at Billund Airport to nine in 2019 after making its first entry on June 19, 2015.
Also in the pipeline are two new routes operated by Ryanair from Billund to Prague and Edinburgh by April 2019, taking its route count from Billund to 15.
Ryanair made its entry at Billund Airport on January 24, 2007.
In 2018, Billund Airport managed to greet two new airlines, with Wideroe introducing flights from Bergen, and LOT Polish Airlines becoming the airport's 11th operator, joining airBaltic, Air France, British Airways, Brussels Airlines, Finnair, Icelandair, KLM, Lufthansa, SAS, and Turkish Airlines.
