Oct 15, 2018 (newstodate): This year's single Airbus A350 delivery for Finnair is now firming up at the Toulouse plant.
The 12th Airbus A350-900 aircraft is currently undergoing outdoor ground tests in preparation for the start of its flight test program, and is slated for delivery in December 2018, as earlier planned.
Finnair received its latest new Airbus A350 in September 2017.
The airline is in dire need for more Airbus A350 capacity to meet plans for sustained growth on the long-haul route network and earlier this year rearranged the delivery scheme, with one aircraft delivery moved forward from 2023 to 2019, while another will be delivered in 2020 rather than 2022 as earlier planned.
Finnair will thus receive two Airbus A350 aircraft in 2019, two in 2020, two in 2021, and the last of the 19 aircraft ordered in 2022.
Earlier, the last Airbus A350 for Finnair was slated for delivery in 2023.
Finnair received its first Airbus A350 aircraft from Airbus on October 7, 2015, as the first European operator of this aircraft type.
