Oct 09, 2018 (newstodate): Ryanair Sun is seeing huge prospects for growth in the Polish charter market.
-The charter traffic in Poland is developing extremely dynamically. This is confirmed by the booking portals, which indicate a 45 percent y-o-y increase in the number of customers in June and July 2018, as well as airport statistics showing a 60 percent increase in charter traffic in Poznan, 55 percent in Wroclaw, and 33 percent in Katowice - cities where Ryanair Sun has bases, says Juliusz Komorek, Ryanair Management Board Member for Legal and Regulatory Affairs, Chairman of the Supervisory Board Ryanair Sun in an interview with the Polish site PRTL.
From the start of its first summer schedule 2018, Ryanair Sun has been operating for Polish leading tour operators including TUI Poland and Grecos Holiday with a fleet of five Boeing 737-800 aircraft on Polish registration after being granted its Polish AOC only on April 3, 2018.
During the coming winter schedule, these aircraft will be operating for Ryanair on wet-lease basis before returning to Ryanair Sun operations again from summer 2019 when the fleet is expected to grow to a total of 20 aircraft.
Until now, the three largest provider of charter capacity in the Polish market have been Enter Air, Travel Service and Small Planet Airlines Poland - but with Ryanair Sun's entry in the market conditions are fast changing.
As one immediate result, Small Planet Airlines Poland is now seeking new investors during a restructuring process managed by a Polish court.
At the same time, Ryanair Sun is amid a cabin and cockpit crew recruiting campaign across Poland during October 3-12.
