Oct 16, 2018 (newstodate): Norway's Oslo Airport is to finally get its much-coveted direct nonstop air link to China in 2019.
During the Royal state visit to China, Avinor has inked an agreement with Hainan Airlines for opening of direct flights between Oslo and Beijing starting from Spring 2019 and to be operated thrice-weekly with Airbus A330-300 aircraft.
Sharing the pleasure with 292 passengers in the cabin will be some 16 tonnes of Norwegian seafood on the lower deck, much to the pleasure of Norwegian seafood exporters that have yearned for this service for years.
The coming Chinese connection will add to the export capacity on the planned Ethiopian Cargo freighter from Oslo to Guangzhou and the existing DHL/Atlas Air twice-weekly freighter service from Oslo Airport to Seoul, continuing to Shanghai.
