Oct 12, 2018 (newstodate): The Estonian carrier Nordica is playing down rumors of turbulence and uncertainty.
-There is no business without issues and challenges to be tackled, and we have openly admitted that during the first half of the year we took on too many new projects at the same time. This unfortunately affected the quality of our service, says Toomas Uibo, Nordica Head of Marketing and Communications.
-While the total number of flights from Tallinn will remain at winter 2017-2018 levels, Nordica has therefore announced the suspension of flights to Gothenburg in Sweden and Kiev Zhuliany Airport from the new winter schedule, and we will be reducing the number of flights on routes to Munich and Oslo.
-Hannes Saarpuu is now our CEO and Chairman of the Board, and of course a new CEO will enforce changes that take time to implement. Some changes has also been made to the management of the company.
-One example is Sven Kukemelk, till late September 2018 serving as Nordica Exec Director Business Development. His obligations have been taken over by Kristel Penu, already serving as Nordica CFO as well as Head of Revenue Management.
-Since November 18, 2016, we are operating on LOT's commercial platform, but at the same time we are working on a project to migrate unto an own commercial platform. No specific time-frame for this work is however fixed yet.
-As earlier said, we still plan to add two or three more aircraft in 2019, so things are developing while the big picture remains rather unchanged, says Mr Uibo.
