Oct 31, 2018 (newstodate): Azerbaijan's new low-cost carrier Buta Airways has again expanded its Embraer aircraft fleet.
As with the previous seven Embraer E190 aircraft, the eight aircraft has been delivered by the Danish aircraft lessor Nordic Aviation Capital under a lease agreement with Buta's mother company, Azerbaijan Airlines.
Based at Baku Heydar Aliyev International Airport, Buta Airways took to the air on its first commercial flight on September 1, 2017, offering flights from Baku to Moscow, Kiev, Antalya, Kazan, Mineralnye Vody, Tbilisi and Tehran.
The next phase started from October 29, 2017 with flights from Baku to Istanbul and St Petersburg, and from Ganja to Moscow, and in its summer 2018 schedule Buta Airways has operated flights to 12 destinations in Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, Bulgaria and Georgia.
