Oct 03, 2018 (newstodate): The Latvian carrier airBaltic has selected the Canadian MRO Jazz Technical Services to provide heavy maintenance on its fleet of 12 Bombardier Dash-8 Q400 aircraft.
A subsidiary of Chorus Aviation Inc, Jazz Technical Services is a third party maintenance, repair and overhaul service provider with a focus on all Bombardier aircraft types.
Jazz Technical Services will perform the work for airBaltic from its six bay, 80,000 square foot facility at Halifax Stanfield International Airport, where over 400 maintenance professionals are employed supporting contracts for Canadian, U.S. and international customers.
airBaltic took delivery of its first Q400 aircraft in November 2009, and now plans to gradually phase out the aircraft type from 2020, eventually ending the turboprop era.
