Oct 08, 2018 (newstodate): The Chinese carrier China Southern Airlines is mulling plans for opening of a spree of new routes in the coming two years.
Revealed at the recent 24th World Route Development Forum in Guangzhou, China, the organizers Guangdong Airport Authority and Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport said that China Southern Airlines is to launch flights between 2018 and 2020 to Copenhagen and other destinations including Rome, Madrid, Milan, , Istanbul, Calcutta, Islamabad, Chicago, Seattle, Boston, Tel Aviv, and Tehran.
If realized, Copenhagen Airport might thus see China Southern Airlines connecting to Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, which is the third-largest airport in China and poised to be among the worlds top 10 largest airports by 2020 after completion of major investment plans comprising five runways and three terminals.
So far, the only direct air link between Guangzhou and the Nordic markets remains Finnair's flights from Helsinki, first operated during 2005-2008, but returned again from summer 2016 with four weekly rotations.
