Oct 16, 2018 (newstodate): Already today boasting of having the largest air cargo market in Scandinavia, Sweden is keen to see its air cargo business growing further.
One key element is to strengthen the cooperation between stakeholders in the industry, and Swedavia is now driving the process to set up Air Cargo Sweden as a community to comprise airlines, cargo handling companies, freight Forwarders as well as property management companies, business schools as well as Swedavia.
For a start, calls are out for founding Air Cargo Sweden at a meeting slated for November 15, 2018, at premises close to Stockholm Arlanda Airport.
During H1, 2018, cargo volumes at Swedavia's three leading cargo airports reached 139,697 tonnes, an increase by 4.6 percent, y-o-y, but Stockholm Arlanda Airport alone saw volumes up by 8.1 percent to 95,913 tonnes.
