Oct 12, 2018 (newstodate): With the inauguration flights on October 11, 2018, Finland has now got its first air-link to Dubai by a Gulf-based carrier.
The low-cost carrier flydubai is now on-line on the route between Dubai and Helsinki with a daily year-round rotation using Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft.
The route will be code-shared with Emirates, and passengers from destinations on Emirates' global network including not least the Asian destinations can then connect to Finland with one stop in Dubai, adding new competition to Finnair's routes.
Already plying the air on the route, but on a seasonal basis only, are Finnair since February 2011, using Airbus A321 aircraft, and Norwegian from November 19, 2015, operating Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft.
