Jan 16, 2018 (newstodate): The Swedish/UK cargo carrier West Atlantic is now in the final stages of realizing its efforts to secure liquidity through bondholders' approval of amendments and waivers.
As one result of these efforts besides helping the carrier to overcome its current financial crisis, capital will be secured for West Atlantic's ambitious plans to introduce four Boeing 737-800 Converted Freighters to its fleet as launch customer for the P2F program.
The four aircraft so far ordered will be leased from GECAS and scheduled for delivery in February, August, November 2018, and February 2019.
The Boeing 737-800 Converted Freighter will be equipped with CFM56-7B engines, and will carry up to 23.9 tonnes of cargo with 12 main deck positions over 2,000 nautical miles.
-The Boeing 737-800BCF will be an enabler for us to make a leap in reliability, capacity, and ability to expand in areas of the world away from our traditional markets, such as Asia, West Atlantic's CEO Frederic Groth told newstodate in June 2017.
