Jan 26, 2018 (newstodate): In 2017, Russian airlines saw their combined cargo volumes up by 16.1 percent, y-o-y, to 1,121,793 tonnes.
Measured in volumes, the five largest contributors were AirBridgeCargo with 565,535 tonnes, up 12.8 percent, y-o-y, Aeroflot with 226,590 tonnes and up 29.1 percent, Volga-Dnepr Airlines with 37.616 tonnes and up 14.4 percent, Sibir with 34,810 tonnes and down 0.3 percent, and Rossiya with 32,794 tonnes, up 52.8 percent.
Together, these five airlines thus accounted for 79.4 percent of all cargo on 35 Russian airlines during the year.
In 2016, the Russian airlines carried a total of 967,900 tonnes of cargo, a more modest increase by 6.7 percent.
