Jan 31, 2018 (newstodate): Russia's St Petersburg Pulkovo Airport is to work out a plan for new infrastructure dedicated to handling the rising low-cost traffic at the airport.
The airport saw passenger volumes up by 21.6 percent, y-o-y, in 2017, and half of the 14 new international destinations opened in 2017 were provided by low-cost airlines including Wizz Air starting from August 27, 2017 and the Chinese low-cost carrier Lucky Air starting from October 31, 2017.
Preparing for a further rise in this segment, the airport will deliver a new strategy and a plan for infrastructure concerning low-cost traffic within the first half of this year.
In 2017 the airport landed seven new airlines, and cargo volumes also increased by 18 percent to 34,638 tonnes carried by 21 airlines
